Our story began in Stockholm a century ago, when two young engineers, Baltzar von Platen and Carl Munters, set out to prove the impossible: that heat could create cold. Their breakthrough became the world’s first absorption cooling technology—revolutionizing refrigeration and even earning Einstein’s admiration. That spirit of innovation stayed with us as the world grew more mobile. From RVs and campervans to cabin cruisers and power yachts, our technologies quietly powered adventure—refrigeration, climate control, cooking, marine steering and more. We became the hidden hero of outdoor life, helping people roam further, stay longer, and feel freer. And as the world demanded new ways to move freely, sustainably, and off-grid—we expanded into mobile power. Today we develop reliable, high‑performance energy solutions that enable true independence on the move. With more than 1,000 patents, our products now live in over 30 million vehicles and vessels worldwide – tested in deserts, rainforests, oceans, and mountains. We employ 7,000 people globally and sell our products in more than 100 countries. In 2025, we reported net sales of SEK 21 billion (USD 2.3 billion) and are headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
